The donations in Room C1 are beginning to overflow as Aspire Academy’s "Stone Cold" appeal enters its final couple of weeks. What began as a Year 8 classroom reflection on Robert Swindells' gritty novel has transformed into a school-wide mission to combat local food insecurity.

The response has been overwhelming and tudents and staff are arriving daily with pasta, rice, tinned goods and hygiene kits.

"Seeing the students take ownership of this project is incredible," noted Mrs Gregory. "They aren’t just reading a story; they are changing the narrative for people in our own town."

Aspire Academy is making a final push for donations before the collection closes next Friday - all non-perishable items should be brought to Room C1 and the goods will then be delivered to the Blackpool Soup Kitchen.
