Number of students eligible for funding:

42 students (25%) arrived below the expected standard in English at the end of Key Stage 2.

23 students (14%) arrived below the expected standard in Mathematics at the end of Key Stage 2.

 

At Blackpool Aspire Academy this funding is used for:

  • Pet-Xi were hired to deliver a week of bespoke intervention in both English and Maths. Key areas for improvement were targeted.

 

Impact of Interventions:

42 students (25%) arrived below the expected standard in English at the end of Key Stage 2. 53% of these students were on track to make expected progress by the last data collection of the year.

23 students (14%) arrived below the expected standard in Mathematics at the end of Key Stage 2. 12% of these students were on track to make expected progress by the last data collection. 4% were on track to make more than expected progress.

58 students (33%) arrived below the expected standard in English at the end of Key Stage 2.

38 students (22%) arrived below the expected standard in Mathematics at the end of Key Stage 2.

 

At Blackpool Aspire Academy this funding is used for:

Employment of a Year 7 catch up teacher to deliver high quality, bespoke intervention to accelerate progress in English and maths.  This includes:

  • PiXL Code Phonics programme to assist with basic reading skills.
  • Basic literacy skills in writing compositions.
  • Scholastic Reading programme to monitor progress in reading lexis.

 

Impact of Interventions

33% of students arrived below the expected standard in English at the end of Key Stage 2.  55% of these students were on track to make expected progress and 4% were on track to make more than expected progress by the end of Year 7 from their starting points.

22% of students arrived below the expected standard in Mathematics at the end of Key Stage 2.  23% of these students were on track to make expected progress and 5% were on track to make more than expected progress by the end of Year 7 from their starting points.
