Some of our Year 10 students took part in their first Duke of Edinburgh's Award training session this weekend, around Beacon fell country park.
There are 13 Year 10 students taking part in the DofE bronze programme in total and this weekend was all about navigation skills using map features and a compass.
All completed a 10km walk in the countryside, a bit of a change of scenery and fresh air for most of them; there were some exhausted teenagers on the way back to Aspire Academy!
The next training session will take place in September, with the qualifying weekend due at the start of October.
