Carley (Year 10) and Lacey (Year 7) competed in the Pop Idol 2023 competition last night and were both fantastic.
The annual singing competition is held by Blackpool Music Service supported by Friends of BMS and this year was held at Montgomery Academy.
Lacey, performing In the stars by Benson Boone, was very unlucky not to place in the top three, but her performance and stage presence received extremely high feedback from the judges panel.
Carley gave her rendition of Creep by Radiohead earning her top spot and declared winner, no mean feat considering this is a competition that features all the high schools in Blackpool.
Ms Mackay, Head of Performing Arts said, “Our Aspire Academy students have done themselves proud again this year. Myself and Miss Spencer accompanied these two gifted performers to the competition last night and are two very proud teachers today.”
